Taralynn began working in substance use treatment in 2014 and obtained her Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) certification in 2015. Soon she became aware of many gaps that existed for those trying to get help and continue their recovery. In an effort to continue her education she received her Master of Social Work degree in August of 2020 from Arizona State University. Her background in chemical dependency treatment has provided her with a strong skillset in working with families during their recovery process. Taralynn is a Certified Intervention Professional offering interventions in Oregon, Washington and throughout the country. Her training as a clinician has allowed her to use a person-centered approach. She believes that change in the family system can help enact lasting recovery. Taralynn identifies as someone in long-term recovery, but believes that treating her eating disorder and anxiety were essential to sustaining recovery. Due to this she relies on the collaboration of her Case Managers, Clinicians & Companions in order to treat the whole person. She is trained in Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) and strives to help clients implement these techniques. She also relies on therapeutic orientations such as Family Systems Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She uses pieces of each of these approaches with her clients. At Sisu Taralynn provides clinical supervision, therapy, family coaching and intervention services. Her promise is to provide ethical care to the families that find Sisu. In her free time she enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing and curling up with her cat and a book.
